AboveNet Communications UK Ltd owns one of the most secure and extensive metropolitan networks in London. Constructed as a whole from conceptual stages, this purpose built optical fibre network was designed for the sole purpose of transferring high bandwidth data traffic. The shared infrastructure and unknown design of a legacy providers network is eliminated when leasing dark fibre from AboveNet and replaced by an extremely reliable, highly secure and tremendously scalable platform that caters to the transfer of critical data and the growing network requirements of today’s enterprise.

Spanning from Lewisham, through to the Docklands, on to the City and out to Heathrow, AboveNet’s London network covers over 245Kms of duct infrastructure and has the capacity to hold up to 13,824 individual optical fibres. It connects directly onto AboveNet’s Global IP backbone and across to the US where it connects via long haul fibre to 14 metropolitan cities, providing its customers with superior connectivity between some of the world’s most advanced and vibrant business markets.
