AboveNet has a long history of supplying high quality, high capacity Internet Bandwidth to Carriers and large ISPs. IP Backbone Upgrade

AboveNet completed the London stage of its multi-million dollar Internet backbone upgrade in July 2006. With its primary focus to stay ahead of its customers needs, AboveNet has committed to providing a network that exceeds expectations both today and way into the future.

As a Tier-1 Transit provider, AboveNet is highly respected for supplying high quality, high capacity Internet Bandwidth to Telco’s, large ISPs and the Enterprise market. Its upgrade, completed across the entire UK network takes AboveNet even further ahead of its competition by implementing one of the industry’s first all Juniper core backbones.

By deploying the new Juniper T640’s, AboveNet has chosen a platform that enables virtually unlimited bandwidth with no sacrifice being made to either quality or security. The sheer power of these core routers allows AboveNet to remove a whole distribution layer of infrastructure, which in turn simplifies the network, removes potential points of failure and allows AboveNet to connect high volume customers directly to the core IP backbone (AS6461). The Juniper T640 Internet routing node is the latest hardware designed for high speed IP connectivity. It delivers 640 Gbps of capacity and up to 770 million packets per second (Mpps) of throughput. This combination ensures that AboveNet’s customers continue to receive the very best IP Transit service.

For those already familiar with AboveNet’s IP service, AboveNet continues to maintain those characteristics that are so well known within the industry. It continues to focus on providing outstanding access to both the content provider and user, delivering the most direct access to its destination sites.
