MEF Announces 2009 Service Provider Awards

AboveNet named America’s finalist

New York, December 8, -- AboveNet, Inc., (NYSE:ABVT), a leading provider of high bandwidth connectivity solutions, announced that on November 11, 2009 AboveNet was named Finalist in three categories at the prestigious MEF Carrier Ethernet Service Provider Awards for Americas – 2009.  The announcement was made at the MEF service provider dinner in New York, held at the Light Reading Ethernet Expo.

This year’s service provider awards, with an expanded range of categories, attracted a record number of entries from service providers all keen to be awarded the recognition by the judging panels of industry analysts.

AboveNet was named:

  • Finalist: Best Service Portfolio in the Americas

  • Finalist:  Best Marketing category in the Americas

  • Finalist: Service Provider of the Year in the Americas

Speaking at the conclusion of the New York ceremonies, Nan Chen, MEF President, commented: “This year’s Service Provider Awards reflect the advances in Carrier Ethernet services and the expanding number of service providers in this growth segment of the telecommunications industry. The number and quality of award submissions are a reflection of the increasing importance of Ethernet services within service provider product portfolios.”
