Press Release

Dimetis BOSS©Platform Manages Connections to AboveNet Media Networks

BOSS© LINK Manager with AboveNet Media Networks improve productivity of Hollywood Studios

Dietzenbach, Germany – April 11, 2007 - Dimetis GmbH, a German-based Broadcast OSS supplier to world-class Telecommunication, Media & Broadcast carriers in Europe & North America, today announced the incorporation of its BOSS© LINK Manager connection switching software for AboveNet Media Networks.

Linking twelve (12) major studios and post-production facilities during its trial turn-up, AboveNet Media Networks subscribers establish Gigabit Ethernet connections to each other among London, Los Angeles, San Francisco and New York. BOSS© LINK Manager allows each studio and post-house to flexibly and securely control the transfer of their large media-rich files to one another across AboveNet’s private optical network dedicated to the production of motion pictures and television.

Joseph Ramsey, General Manager of AboveNet Media Networks commented, “Our prominent studio and post-production customers value the performance, security and broad range of services available from AboveNet. The media industry demands a very specialized control interface to manage their own connections and optimize network usage costs when transferring content between various production partners. The Dimetis BOSS© LINK Manager provides this capability in a very intuitive, easy to use customer interface.”

With BOSS© LINK Manager, AboveNet Media Networks subscribers establish on-demand point-to-point virtual private connections to any other subscriber across its private optical network at bandwidth rates (currently up to 1Gbps) and transfer schedules of their own choosing, without intervention by AboveNet customer service staff. Behind the scenes, BOSS© LINK Manager software securely interfaces with AboveNet Media Networks Juniper T-Series routers, configuring the optical network to accommodate the desired connection. Additionally it also exports customer usage data to AboveNet’s billing system.

Concluded Joe Kniesel, Dimetis CEO; “This is just the type of application where the BOSS© platform excels. Our expertise is connecting media, content provider and broadcast video facilities to high performance, agile telecommunication networks like those of AboveNet Media Networks, facilitating information exchange and productivity improvement. Our BOSS© (Broadcast Operations Support System) platform uniquely bridges these two environments as they converge into large scale video delivery networks.”

Controlware Communication Systems Inc., www.controlware.de/cwp, the sales and marketing partner for Dimetis in the USA, coordinated and brokered the AboveNet Media Networks-Dimetis application.
