The client’s growing popularity for their applications has created a continual demand for bandwidth and the client needed to ensure they were ahead of that bandwidth curve.  The client’s network demand is quintupling each year and they need a provider that can handle their explosive growth.  In addition they needed a network provider that had the ability to turn up bandwidth in rapid intervals. 

The client had two data centers on the east coast and five data centers on the west coast that were all connected via Long Haul network,  Metro Fiber and Metro Network Managed services. 

Applications for the network:  software applications, media exchange, content sharing.

AboveNet was able to deliver an end to end managed network service by leveraging our Metro high bandwidth services combined with our nationwide Long Haul network.   This not only simplifies the network management for the customer but also enables the client to eliminate the last mile connectivity bandwidth constraints that are typically found with legacy provider networks.  This translates into better performance, ultra-low latency and scalability for the client.

AboveNet Solution:    
AboveNet delivered a multi-node Metro Wave Division Multiplexing solution to interconnect their three primary data centers and two secondary data centers on the west coast.  For their east coast data centers AboveNet leveraged its Fiber Optic Infrastructure to connect to their two data center facilities.  Both coasts were then connected using AboveNet’s eXpressWaveTM Long Haul services.
